Malaga definitely knows how to get in to the festive spirit. The city goes all out with their Christmas decor and during December, the centre becomes one big glittery ball of shimmers and sparkles.
What’s more, every year Malaga hosts a spectacular Christmas light switch-on. The entire city comes together in Plaza de la Constitución and down Calle Larios to enjoy the big event. A stage is put up and bands and childrens entertainers flock to the streets to make the most of the big crowds.
Malaga is very proud of this festive event. In fact, apparently the city is known across Spain for their Christmas lights and some people come to the city especially to see them.
As for the switch-on itself, the display was spectacular. With a light show timed perfectly to music, it looked like something out of Las Vegas.
The warm festive feeling watching the sky light up in sparkles was enough to move you to tears! Everyone was gathered with their loved ones to celebrate the start of the Christmas season. The atmosphere was electric.
Afterwards, the streets and bars teamed with life as people stayed on to soak up the festive spirit. Every corner of the the city was lit up, it was a truly memorable and magical evening.
