February is a particularly special month in Ibiza with the blossoming of the almond trees. Almond blossom has appeared on trees all over the island, brightening up the winter months and showing signs of spring. Unlike most blossom, the almond flower comes out earlier and is a pleasant surprise on the trees bare winter branches. The pinkish-white flower is especially pretty against the island’s blue sky. I am lucky enough to go past trees in bloom every morning on my way to school but the most famous place to enjoy them is in Santa Agnes which has large almond orchards.
Here are a few photos of the island’s pretty flower. Never a dull moment in Ibiza!
These photos were taken in Santa Agnes. Unfortunately I failed to capture the perspective but around the village were rows upon rows of almond trees in full blossom. You were surrounded by a sea of white and pink that stretched to the horizon and beyond. Magical!
